The Streaming Platform is Producing a Far Cry TV Show from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.
The newest action-packed instalment that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it has a reputation for embracing violence and madness with similar excitement, all while telling engaging, politically driven tales. It’s no surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two visionaries whose work have exemplified all of those things.
What to Expect
Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game series, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' style by featuring a different location and ensemble in subsequent series.
Creative Minds
Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
We’ve shared outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we do not know what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.
“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally accommodating, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners constantly supports me with their steady confidence and support.”
“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style program. Every title is a variation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can shift from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the core of humanity through this intricate and chaotic perspective, is a ultimate goal. I’m thrilled to partner with Rob and introduce our shared unconventional, ambitious sensibility to the television.”
A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
