Soccer Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts
The Gunners' 10-game victorious run was ended by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.
In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
The singer's new record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.
Football and Family Life
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.
So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.
My son advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
Their display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.
But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
