Homages Pour In for Rob and Michele Reiner as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

More than two weeks after the tragic deaths of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the duo.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt ready to share openly about his personal sorrow.

"Enough time has gone by that I can finally express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the movie, remarking that he could not remember "one day without laughter".

"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes wrote.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Friend and Collaborator

In a different piece, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles judge ruled to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A judicial mandate put a embargo on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" connected to the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a public database listing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Fallout and Commentary

In the wake of the killings, public individuals shared divergent comments.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, making divisive statements that were broadly criticized by many individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the critics recently. Talking on his program, Rogan characterized the comments as "disappointing" and remarked they demonstrated a troubling lack of empathy.

Rogan ended by proposing that an aide should have stepped in when the decision to comment on the tragedy was made.
